The SDGs in Action Film Festival is a competition looking for short films that showcase how people and organizations around the world are taking action for the 17 global SDGs. The Application is open until the 26 of April!
The Festival was launched in 2018 in connection with the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development taking place each July at UN Headquarters in New York. The competition is targeting amateur and professional filmmakers around the globe giving them the chance to submit up to 20 minutes long animated or live-action films that present a person or project working on making the SDGs reality.
Entries for 2019 will be accepted in the following categories:
- Protecting our planet
- Reducing inequalities
- Building peace
- Ensuring quality education and jobs
- Young Filmmaker (24 years old or younger)
- SDGs in Virtual Reality/360 degrees (films 2 minutes or less)

The winning video in each category will be shown at the SDGs in Action Film Festival and the filmmaker will be invited to attend and participate.
